Beauty Industry Operations Case Study

In Spring 2025, I participated in an operations management case competition focused on process improvement for a high-volume beauty service provider. My team analyzed workflow inefficiencies within the Super-Relaxante treatment process, identifying long wait times, capacity limitations, and labor inefficiencies as key challenges. Using tools such as process flow mapping, capacity analysis, and cause-and-effect diagrams, we proposed solutions including staff cross-training, concurrent prep work, and improved scheduling. Our recommendations targeted measurable outcomes, such as reducing wait times by 10 minutes, increasing throughput capacity by 20%, and improving labor efficiency by 10%, while also considering risks like labor laws and client pricing sensitivity
